AM3359 DDR3 question

I have a custom made board based on AM335x EVM that use DDR2. I need change it to DDR3. Is necessary make some kind of change in u-boot and kernel? Someone can give me the correct places and parameters that need be changed in this process considering just software view point?

Hi,

Yes, you would need to change DDR initializations in u-boot to support DDR3.

In Kernel, power management code will need some modifications for DDR3.

Please refer the latest PSP release (u-boot and kernel) for more info on this.

DDR2 and DDR3 hardware designs are quite different. You cannot simply replace the memory chip. Check the AM335X Datasheet, Sections 5.5.2.2 and 5.5.2.3 for details.
