can i ignore MMC0_POW pin in AM3359 based board design?

if i do that what would be impact on that port?

Hi Ibram,

You can safely ignore MMC0_POW. It hasn't been used in any of the reference designs. If you need them, you can find reference design schematics here: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM335xBoards

Hi All,

I am going to use microSD card connector on the board which does not have write protect(WP)pin/Switch. In this case how to deal with MMC0_SDWP pin of AM3359.

Hi Ibram,

There are two possibilities:

1. If you need the pin for other functions, then software needs to be modified to exclude WP check.

2. You can leave the pin open and enable the internal pullup (or pulldown, I'm not sure which exactly).

I understand MMC0_POW is Low when boot start.

Is this understanding correct ?

MMC0_POW is a signal, not a pin. This signal is available at two pin locations, both of which are pinmuxed in Mode 7 (GPIO) at reset release time. Neither of these pins is pinmuxed by ROM code to MMC0_POW mode at boot time. I need to know AM335X package type, pin number and boot sequence in order to determine the state of the pin at boot time.

We think package is ZCZ and pin number is H18.
I wanna know H18 pin is High or Low when boot mode is MMC.

The default state of ZCZ pin H18 at reset release time is High-impedance with an active pulldown resistor. Note that this pin muxmode will be changed by ROM code if RMII EMAC boot mode is included in the boot sequence.
