project in tms320c6713

Hello everyone I am Richard, doing my project on tms320c6713 dsk where I need two speech signals as input, but in dsk there is only one mic in port. Ralph chasing book tells about an adapter for the purpose but i don't find what that adapter is actually named......so anyone help me with it.....any other options will be ok for me too

  • Hi Richard,

Please post your query on this link : http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/tms320c6000_high_performance_dsps/default.aspx

  • Richard,

Welcome to the TI E2E forum. I hope you will find many good answers here and in the TI.com documents and in the TI Wiki Pages. Be sure to search those for helpful information and to browse for the questions others may have asked on similar topics.

We have some training material on the TI Wiki Pages. Please go there and search for "c6713 training" (no quotes) to find the training for the C6x1x family. The x's show that this class is useful for the C641x and C671x DSPs.

The DSK cannot fill every need of every project. But it fills the need of offering a low-cost platform on which you can evaluate your application code, with many common types of peripherals already on the board. The expansion connectors allow you to access DSP signals so you can add  more logic to the board, either of your own design or that you have purchased from a Third Party vendor. Two that I am familiar with are link-research.com and educationaldsp.com. I suspect Spectrum Digital has some, so be sure to check their website, and do an Internet search for terms like DSK ADC BOARDS or DSK6713 I/O DAUGHTERCARD or such.

And you may want to take advantage of the fact that the LINE IN port of the DSK6713 is a stereo port. With a small pre-amp or a pair of powered microphones, you might be able to make that work.

    Regards,
    RandyP

  • thanks for assistance Randy, i appreciate that, but for using a pair of microphones, i think a stereo connector is required what that connector called can you tell me.

  • Richard,

There are several connectors. Please refer to the Technical Reference and the schematic for the details on each.
