Syslink and Windows: is it possible?

Hello,

currently, we are developing a device that is using a TMS320C6A816x. We're using Syslink 2_20_00_14 to communicate between the ARM and the DSP. What we would like to do is to cut out the dsp part, attach it to a tablet (that most likely runs Windows 8) and use the DSP part from there. The "cut out and attach"-Part is easy, but I would like to know if it's possible to adapt syslink in a way that it communicates between the tablets atom and the dsp. I can remember that the old BIOSLINK had some kind of glue layer that could be adapted to almost anything…

What do you say: is it possible?

Thank you,

Markus

"My s/w stack is based on DSPLink with WinCE.Can I port SysLink to other OS like WinCE?

    • Yes, SysLink product is also available as a porting kit similar to DPSLink. The presence of an OS Abstraction Layer makes it easy to port to other Operating Systems. While the first product release of SysLink is on Linux, it is planned to make ports of SysLink to other OSes such as WinCE also available in the future."

But the reality is that this is not currently supported by TI.

However, third parties, such as BSquare, have in the past ported DSPLink and SysLink to their WinCE BSP.  So you may want to contact them for performing your specific work.
