how to solve the problem?

  • There is an EEPROM on the daughter board that is read by software. Also the CPLD board profile is read from the daughterboard. You will have to edit these two to get your EVM running without the daughterboard.
  • where can to edit these two?I find them in menuconfig or to find them in code?

  • Hi,

It's all happening in the am335x_evm_setup() function inside <linux_folder>/arch/arm/mach-omap2/board-am335xevm.c file.

There are many ways to workaround this once you read the code.

    Best regards,
    Miroslav

  • this problem is solved, but still have another problem exists.

    how to solve the problem?

  • Hi,

Are you sure your rootfstype is ext4 and not ext3?

    Kernel command line: console=ttyO0,115200n8 androidboot.console=ttyO0 mem=256M root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rw rootfstype=ext4 rootwait init=/init ip=off

Is your SD Card Detect pin connected? Please check the AM335x datasheet to see which pins can be pinmuxed to be used as SD Card Detect and then check your board file to see if you are using any of these pins for Card Detect.

    Best regards,
    Miroslav

  • In my development board, it has only one eeprom. In the am335xevm board, it has three eeprom.

Because I retains ethernet eeprom, the others is removed.

so the am335x cannot exactly read the mac of eeprom, the machine will be halt.

  • I solve the above problem, but still have some problems

how to solve this problem ?

  • Hi,

There seems to be an issue with the root partition on your SD card.

How did you format your SD card? What did you use? Is the root file system on mmcblk0p2 partition?

    Best regards,
    Miroslav
