DM816x HDCOMP to generate CVBS

We are currently using DVRRDK 3.0. Should it be possible to use the HDCOMP venc to produce a second CVBS output to support NTSC and PAL (in addition to the SD_VENC).

At what layer of the DVRRDK would changes be needed to support this (API, LINK, VPSS driver?).

Are there any existing demos in the DVRRDK or the ezsdk that can do this?

I know this is kind of a general question without many details, but just trying to see if this is practical. I see here: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/DM816X_AM389X_VPSS_Video_Driver_User_Guide, under VPSS Library-display3: sysfs attributes, that output can be set to composite.

No, It is not possble to generate CVBS output from HDCOMP.

Hello Brijesh,

In the document I linked (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/DM816X_AM389X_VPSS_Video_Driver_User_Guide) under the section VPSS Library-display3: sysfs attributes, the sysfs nodes for the HDCOMP venc are described.

Example usage of the output sysfs node are given as:

echo component/svideo/composite, rgb888/yuv444p/yuv422spuv > /sys/devices/platform/vpss/display3/output.

Any idea what the purpose of the "composite" output setting is?

that's the mistake in the document, but as i said, it cannot generate the composite output.
