DM3730 EVM: WEC7 kernel panic when OPP set to 1G Hz

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DM3730

Hi all,

I'm running Windows Embedded Compact 7 on Mistral DM3730 EVM.

If the OPP Mode is set to 1GHz for Cortex-A8 core, sometimes the OS kernel get panic...

If the OPP Mode is set to 800MHz for Cortex-A8, the OS and application are runing fine for long time.

What is the actual chip soldered on the Mistral DM3730 EVM?

I checked the BOM downloaded from Mistral's website and the part number of DM3730 dose not indicate that the chip is 1GHz capable. So I doube that the maxium frequency of the chip on the EVM is actually 800MHz ??

Thanks and Regards,

YY

  • Hi Yuyan,

I have the same board (Mistral DM3730-EVM) but it works properly at 1 GHz. The issue should e due to some hardware problem with your board or something related with Windows. I recommend you to check the behaviour of board under Android or Linux is it works stable at 1 GHz.
