Power VR demo

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM3874

Hi,

My customer is using BSP ver. 02.30.00.

Customer tested PowerVR-DEMOS that it is attached in BSP.

And customer had two symptom as the following.

1) Running test for long time:

They run SKYBOX(baloon demo) in own system (AM3874 is used in its system) long time.

After three days, the Power VR demo stopped suddenly! Then, customer closed the PowerVR-Demo once, and tried to run same demo again.

But customer had a below message.

"Cannot execute 'OGLESSkybox'. A critical component is either missing or failing to start due to low memory."

2) Start/Stop test :

Customer repeated to start/stop PowerVR demo. After repetition ten times, customer had the below message.

" PVRShell:Unable to create surface"

The AM3874 system recover from the above both symptom by Power off/on only.

Do you know similar symptoms in WEC7 BSP? If you have any information for these issue, please let me know.

Best regards,

Michi

  • Hi,

I would like to confirm the condition working PowerVR- Demos correctly.

My customer board has only 512MB dram. But TI EVM has 1GB dram.

I confirmed "SKYBOX" test  works correctly on TI EVM.  As you know, one of the difference of both boards is memory size.

Are there any limitation for woking PowerVR-Demos?

Also my customer would like to get some code that can use for customer's evaluation.  Do you know some information about it?

    Best regards,

    Michi

  • Hi Michi,

Can you check the memory usage on the devices that are running a very long run of the skybox demo?  It is possible that the device has run out of memory on the 512 board and has not on the 1GB board yet still has very high memory usage after 3+ days.

For the second issue "PVRShell: Unable to create surface" is this issue reproducible on the EVM?

Also can you confirm the following:

    1) Screen resolution.

    2) Memory map on the custom device.

    Regards,
