can the udworks dvr-rdk board run ezsdk 5.0

Hi,

I am using the udworks dvr-rdk 3.0 with the hardware boards also from udworks. And I want to use some demos in ezsdk 5.0. My question is:

       (1) Can I run the ezsdk 5.0 software inculuding kernel on the udworks HW board? If yes, how can I do this?

       (2) If the answer for (1) is NO, where can I buy one dm8168 - evm board? It seems TI does not sell the dm8168-evm board any longer, because I tried but fail to buy about two months ago.

       (3) Are there any other companies selling the dm8168 based Dev. board which runs ezsdk 5.0 apps. well ?

       Thanks

  • for #1, There are certain modifications in uboot and kernel specific to UD WORKS reference design so I dont think EZSDK will work as it is on UDWORKs board, there would be unpredictable effort involved in porting. What is missing in DVR RDK? Which demo you want to run from EZSDK is there any specific requirement? DVR RDK has multiple demos, are you sure none of them suffice your requiement?

for #2, Contact local sales team and FAEs for more information on this.

for #3, You can check with Spectrum Digital. You will have to buy daugther card as well.

  • Hi Yogesh,

Thanks for the reply. For now, I want to know how to program on the DSP core of DM8168, and how to communicate between ARM & DSP. And I found it seems the syslink example in ezsdk demos on this? And I do not know how to start studing this from DVR-RDK.

         Thanks
