Trouble with Pulse Ox Medical Dev Kit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C5515

Hello, I am using a TMS320C5515 EVM connected to a TI analog front end [SpO2_FE_rev2] used for Pulse Ox applications.  I have the software loaded as boot code and working correctly, but when I connect ANY SpO2 transducer all I get is a "noise" waveform.  Please see the attached screen shot.  I specifically ordered the finger cuff sensor that is referenced as working with this analog board, the the link to which is: http://www.biometriccables.com/product/texasinstrumentmodulestipn020101001/

Any help fixing this issue would be much appreciated.  Do I have malfunctioning hardware?  Do I have something set up wrong with the DSP?  If you have any thoughts please let me know.

  • After examining the hardware of my analog front end board I noticed some inconsistencies with the schematic.  The 10uF tantalum cap C26 on the DAC reference is missing.  Also there are three caps that the schematic calls out as DNI, but they are in fact inserted.  Hopefully this is another clue.
