I am trying to accessing GPMC pins as General purpose IO can you please suggest me how to configure GPMC pins as IO's

You have to change the pinmux settings for these pins. Check section 9.3 in the AM335X TRM. Registers for the GPMC pins are named CONF_GPMC_XXX. The AN335X Datasheet, Table 2-7 lists the available pinmux modes for each processor I/O pin.
