DM368: is there any utility available to load kernel and file system faster than UART (loadb) method

Hi,

We are working upon DM368 platform. Using CCS I will be able to load UBL and Uboot. For kernel and file system I am using UART mode. This method is taking lot of time.

Is there any utility available by which I can burn kernel and file system using CCS?

Is there any utility available by which I can boot via sd card and load kernel and filesystem from SD card.

I have checked one of the utility available for DM365 and DM355 platform. Is there same type of utility available for DM368?

Hello!

Usualy after writing U-Boot on NAND I use tftp for load Linux.

We do not have ethernet interface available on our customized board.

No problem, U-Boot supported loading via UART.

As I already mention in my question, currently I am using the UART mode only. But It is taking lot of time, so if SD card based utility available then that can make my development and testing very fast.

No experience with the DM368. With other platforms, I've found using CCS/JTAG to download and program NAND to be the slower than using the UART as Kirill suggested. The utility that Constantine posted replaces the usual UBL with a app on the SD Card that copies files from SD Card to NAND. In theory, you could do that within U-boot. See the mmc and fatload commands. For development, is it possible to boot from SD Card directly? Are you using a ramdisk for filesystem? Are you developing a user app or kernel module? Might be better to to keep the kernel constant and download apps and loadable modules onto Linux via the UART.
