AM335X: is 10Mbps UART possible of MCASP or PRU?

Hi all,

I need a 10Mbps UART, is am335x possible use MCASP or PRU? Inside UART port of CPU is 3.6864Mbps.

Hi Wei,

Could you share me why you need so high bps?

I checked it and found that it is still difficult to handle it.

Hmm... Just to have data transfers faster. For example for, but not limited to, faster XYmodem file transfers.

FTDI FT2232H (UART mode) is specified up to 12 Mbps rates

PlxTech OXPCIe*** UARTs are specified to support rates up to 15Mbps.

In turn, could you (or somebody) share with us, why shouldn't anybody want to have UARTs fastest possible?

Or why Sitara ARM processors' UARTs do not support 12Mbps (they are used in connection with FT2232H)?
