Connection of MIPI-60 pin and C6678

Genius 5960 points

Hi,

I believe that trying to debug the C6678 with the XDS560V2.

While we believe that attempts to connect to the C6678 by using a connector of MIPI-60,

Pin assignments are listed in P19 "mulation and Trace Headers TRM (SPRU664H)" of but,

Could you tell me what to do to connect with the C6678?

Best regards,

hamada

  • Hamada,

The information you reference in your post describe how to physically and electrically connect the XDS560v2 emulator to the C6678.

After you have made the physical connection, you will use the Code Composer Studio v5 program to make a logical connection to the C6678. You will then be able to program and control the device from CCSv5.

You will benefit greatly from acquiring an EVM6678. This will give you a known working platform on which to develop code separate from your own board. Also, this will give you a known working board design that can be compared with your when you find problems with using your custom board.

  • RandyP,

    Thank you for reply.

I want to know what to do physically connect the C6678 device and MIPI-60 Connect.

I was looking for materials, etc., but it is not well understood.

Could you tell me if any materials, etc. would be helpful or what?

  • Hamada,

Do you have an XDS560v2 Emulator?  It sounds like you may not have one.  You'll need to purchase one (or another emulator) to connect the the JTAG interface of the EVM.

Other wise you can use the onboard emulations ability (XDS100 I believe) via the Mini-USB plug on the EVM.  The interface isn't as fully featured and is a bit slower, but is good for initial debug and development work.

  • Chad,

Thank you for reply. I have an emulator of XDS560v2.

XDS560v2 header pins are made MIPI-60.

It is to create an evaluation board from now on, the JTAG connector is

I'm going to adopt the MIPI-60.

I want you to tell me where do not you physically connect the MIPI-60 and C6678.

  • Hamada,

I guess I'm still a little confused because there are gaps in the details and I'm not sure I still understand exactly what you are working with, there are multiple assumptions that I can make but I'd rather not cause more confusion so I have a couple questions.

Do you already have a board and if so what board is it (a specific EVM or one you designed/had built.)  Or are you developing a board?

If you have for example a C6678EVM it would already have a header on it.  It would be a TI-60 header.  The XDS560v2 emulator would come with adaptors to go from the MIPI-60 to the TI-60.

Here's a Twiki page that may help resolve some of your question http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/XDS560
