question about package upgrade

dm8168, rdk3.0

After I checking http://downloads.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/, I found that there're lots of released ./ti_tools/packages such as framework_components, ipc, linux_lsp, syslink, ... and there're lots of bugs were fixed. I'm not sure if I can upgrade them by myself directly.

does anyone know that?

If you move to latest RDK, you will automatically get all the relevant updated packages. RDK 4.0 is about to be released soon. If you pick up components on your own you may endup in resolving issues that later versions of RDK has resolved already.

I found there're still some packages like hdvpss, ivahd_hdvicp invalid.

May I know where I could find them?

You will find them as part of RDK in DVRRDK_xx.xx.xx.xx\ti_tools\hdvpss and DVRRDK_xx.xx.xx.xx\ti_tools\codecs folder respectively. Release Notes will mention which release they belong to.

hello,

by my checking, the package inside dvr rdk 4.0 isn't the lateset. (e,g syslink)

did you know why?

All components may not be updated in every RDK release. See Release Notes for updated components. This would have been a internal decision to have stable RDK release and avoid any unknowns.
