Powering the TMS320C6678

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320C6678

DSP TMS320C6678: If we are not going to use any 1.5V powered DSP interfaces / functions including DDR3, hyperlink, SGMII, SRIO or PCIe, can we leave 1.5V power pins UNCONNECTED, such as DVDD15, VDDR2, VDDR3 and VDDR4 etc, or they still need to be powered with 1.5V? For those unused Hyperlink Pins and DDR EMF pins, do they need to be pull low or can be left float?

Thanks

Viktorija

  • Viktorija,

All of this information is contained in the KeyStone Hardware Design Guide.  You must supply all voltages to the C6678.  However, filters are not needed for rails that are not operational.  Unused peripherals can be placed into a low power state.  More information is available in the HDG.  Similarly the unused DDR and HyperLink lanes can be left floating but you must follow the recommendations in the HDG.
