USB communication for Pandaboard (minicom / gtkterm)

Dear readers,

I'm currently trying to build the FireFox OS for my Pandaboard ES, but unfortunately I'm stuck at the USB communication step, and I'm hoping that someone could help me out here.

Long story short, I'm unable to talk to my Pandaboard on [ gtkterm ] via USB and I can't figure out what sort of noob mistake I made.

My setup for the Pandaboard is here:

My output for [ lsusb ] and [ dmesg ] is here:

I'm pretty sure that the USB channel on my PC is working because the same steps allow me to talk to my TI AM335x board (similar to Beaglebone) even without the SD card.

My setup for the AM335x is here:

My output for [ lsusb ] and [ dmesg ] is here:

I would greatly appreciate any tips or suggestions that anyone would like to offer. =)

Cheers,

Hugh
  • OK, I've kind of sorted this out; if anyone else has this problem, the solution is to use the Serial port (with a Serial-USB adapter if necessary) to connect to [ gtkterm ] but use the Mini-USB port for [ fastboot ] flashing.
