Hi all,

I am using TMS320DM8168 in one of my application.

In reference evaluation Board, EDJ1108DBSE has been used as DDR3 memory, Which is having 128 MB Memory,so for 1GB memory i need to use eight 256MB Chip.

Instead of EDJ1108DBSE i was thinking to use MT41K512M16 which is having 1GB memory space.

So will there be any performance issue?

If any please suggest or suggest some better solution which can full fill my requirement.

And please clarify what is the total DDR3 Memory space of TMS320DM8168.

Early response will be appreciated.

From performance point of view you should populate memory chips on both EMIFs and enable DDR interleaving.Using a single EMIF will reduce the available DDR b/w by half.

Total DDR3 memory space is 2GB.

I dont know enough to provide recommendation for memory devices.

Hi Badri,

Thanks for the quick reply.

My total requirement is 2GB. And since Two EMIF is there so i can use 1GB each. Please suggest either a single 1GB on each EMIF will be better or Four 256MB's chip will be better as performance wise.
