boot hangs at davinci_emac_probe: using random MAC addr: e6:78:37:bc:99:82

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PCA9543A, TSC2004, THS7303

I am new trying to run Lab 1 - Setup the workshop Lab Environment and the board that I am working on has been used by others.

I am always getting davinci_emac_probe: using random MAC addr: e6:78:37:bc:99:82 and followed by a white screen with nothing on it. I am using a null cable and after trying several examples they all seem to have the same output.

  • Hi Simon,

As I can see from the logs you are using very old software versions:

    Texas Instruments X-Loader 1.44 (Dec  8 2009 - 22:58:46)
    ..........
    U-Boot 2009.08 (Mar 05 2010 - 09:29:45)
    ..........
    Linux version 2.6.31-rc7-omap1

You could try the last kernel version (but not only the kernel) to check whether the problem still would appear.

    BR

    Tsvetolin Shulev

  • Are there any other reason ?

    I have same problem...

can you give me more information please..
