gray flash when H.264 video decode starts

Hi,

We are using the DM814x EZSDK 5_05_02_00. We noticed that there is flash of gray content just before the video decoder starts. We see this with both our proprietary OMX application, and the decode_display_a8host_debug.xv5T sample that comes with the EZSDK.

Does anyone know how to prevent the gray flash?

Are you observing the same if you execute a gstreamer pipeline?

Yes, you can see this with the unaltered EZSDK 5_05_02_00 filesystem sample called "Gstreamer 1080p Decode and Display on LCD (rquires Daughter card with LCD)". It's brief, but clearly visible.

Yes you are right but it is only when the tvp-ctrl element is used and omx_videosink.

I did not observed it, when v4l2 is used.

gst-launch filesrc location=/usr/share/ti/data/videos/dm816x_1080p_demo.264 ! 'video/x-h264' ! h264parse access-unit=true ! omx_h264dec ! omx_scaler ! gstperf ! v4l2sink device="/dev/video1" show-preroll-frame=false sync=false min-queued-bufs=2

In the second case the tvp7002.ko is loaded.
