ECPY DMA support on M3?

Hi,

has anyone used the ECPY component on an DM814x M3 core?

I am using framework_components_3_22_01_07 from ezsdk but it seems like ECPY will only build for DSP targets (C674x).

is it possible to perform EDMA operations from the M3 VPSS core?

any help would be appreciated,

I found in the TI DMA overview (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Dma_overview):

'ECPY is used in conjunction with RMAN to perform high-speed memory transfers by algorithms that implement the IRES EDMA3CHAN interface'

'The IRESMAN EDMA3CHAN uses the EDMA3 Low Level Resource Manager to manage EDMA3 resources for DSP devices (DM6446, DM6467, DM648, C6455, DM6437, OMAP 2430, 3430 etc).'

I'm assuming this means that ECPY is only supported on DSP devices.

I think to use DMA on the M3 core I will need use EDMA3 Low Level Driver package (EDMA3 LLD).

Is this the reccommended approach? I'm new to TI 814x so any help would be good..

I am not familiar with EDMA.

VPSS-M3
- EDMA (CHs assigned to VPSS M3 using EDMA LLD driver) - optional - NOT needed for HDVPSS driver and OMX.
