DM8168 RDK uboot and kernel for AM389x

Hi,

In our board we are using two processors DM8168 & AM389x. RDK uboot and kernel available for DM8168 will work for AM389x or I have to make any changes? As there is no any config file is given in RDK for AM389x, so can I use config file of DM8168 for AM389x?

Uboot, kernel released as part of DVR RDK release for DM81xx platforms have several changes specific to DVR and the code might not work on AM389x. Please use standard psp releases.

Thanks for your answer. I need some more clarification on this.

Standard PSP release means I have to use TI's ezsdk, is this correct understanding? Could you please let me know which config file I can use to configure u-boot and kernel for AM389x?

Can I use defconfig file available for DM8168 or I have to use any other? Which changes will require so that DSP code can be bypassed in available code?

I am not sure if ezsdk linux / uboot will work. Please contact your local FAE.

Hi Rakesh,

Am389x is same part as DM8168 -minus DSP -minus HDVICP. I think you may need to make appropriate changes to avoid touching/configuring these if at all there is any. I think the memory map, addresses etc should be ok. TRM should be good source to comply to for the boot up. You may refer to the http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/DM816x_AM389x_PSP_U-Boot A quick check shows no specific AM389x mention in the wiki.

Please do let us know if there are any specific issues/queries regarding the u-boot modification.
