Beginner Problem : DSK libraries

Dear All,

I am happy to be writing in TI E2E Community forum for the first time.

I have recently started working on a TMS6713 DSP module under CCSV5.0 and Win 7 OS. As I am quite new to DSP programming, in order to start I need your help on the two fundamental questions:

   1. An easy step-by-step homework/exercise that can help me learn programming under the DSP hardware.

   2. In addition, could you please kindly let me know where I can download these libraries? Are there any other default libraries I need to know about?
        + rts6700.lib
        + csl6713.lib
        + dsk6713bsl.lib

   3. Do the above libraries include typical header files ? (E.g. dsplab.h ) Where can I (if I) define the path for these headers in CCS5.0 please?

Thanks.

I look forward to hearing from you.

  • YAS,

Welcome to the TI E2E forum. I hope you will find many good answers here and in the TI.com documents and in the TI Wiki Pages. Be sure to search those for helpful information and to browse for the questions others may have asked on similar topics.

Go to the TI Wiki Pages and search for "c6713 training" (no quotes). The workshop with C6x1x in the title has archived materials from when we taught classes for the DSK6713. The student guide will show you all the material presented, and the labs will give you the examples that are worked through in the student guide. This is a great class for someone starting out with the DSP. It is based on an older version of CCS, but you will be able to get the labs to work as well. There are some discussions on this forum in which users have listed their experience with moving from CCS 3.x to CCSv5, and those will help you there, too.

    Regards,
    RandyP
