TMS320VC5502 XF pin as soft UART

I don't see your attachment, but I don't see any reason why you couldn't use the XF pin to transmit as a software UART.  The pin is toggled via one of the status bits (bit 13 of ST1).  Just use a timer to get the correct baud rate.  You may want to use a logic analyzer to make sure your signaling is correct.

The general approach is valid.  All the flowcharts will be correct for any bit-banged (i.e. software) UART.  The assembly will have to be modified to accommodate the specific hardware of the C5502.

 I assume they have to do it this way?  There are many chips available that convert other buses into UARTs, such as I2C or SPI...

   It means besides of XF pin i can  use  any GPIO for toggling as per data as specific baud rate?

You can use any GPIO you want to implement this.  The only advantage of the XF pin is that it can be set with a single instruction (BSET XF) whereas GPIO pins will in all probability require a read-and-set.  Likewise for clearing.  This is only a performance concern, and does not effect functionality.
