Hi,

We have designed a custom board with AM3354 processor and DP83848 PHY. we are using clock to both AM3354 and DP83848 of 50 MHz from an oscillator. When we try to ping the custom board on u-boot then it waits for CPSW devices and the ping fails and the message appears as "Host machine not alive". But when we try to ping the custom board with our host machine, then we see that our custom board can transmit the packets, but at the same time unable to receive the request or packets form host machine.

Hi Vinod,

This issue has also been raised by your TI FAE on an internal forum. It will be investigated and you will receive feedback soon. In the meantime:

Are you sure you have connected the PHY to the correct AM335X pins? Have you checked the pinmuxing? Please also note that RMII requires very precise PCB design, due to the high speed of the interface.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I have again did pin multiplexing and initialize the cpsw device. So the Ethernet issue is resolved.
