Beaglebone White GPMC & DMA

Hi,

The reason that I am posting on this forum is because I didn't get much help from the beaglebone forum.

I am quite new to the beaglebone board and please be patient with my questions.

I would like to use the GPMC to store data that comes from an ADC, but I am not sure how to do this at all.

First of all, how I actually set up the GPMC such that it will do that? I was told to set up Direct Memory Access (DMA), but I am not sure how to do this either.

Is there some sample code that I can follow to get a basic idea of this?

Right now I just want something as simple as putting some 3.3 V input to the expansion, a pattern like 0x8000. How can I set up GPMC such that it will write that input into the memory and read it back on the console.

Another question along with that. Where are the data stored once they are fetched?
