Aif2 in TDD Mode

Hi,

 I am working on EVM 6678. I have a query regarding Aif2.

I have configured the Aif2 in TDD mode. Due to my application delay i need to enable some downlink symbols for uplink reception as well. I want to confirm will it have any effect on downlink transmission on those symbols.

Since according to AIF2 user guide there is no such configuration about downlink symbols in TDD Mode, So is it possible to transmit downlink data on symbols which are configured as uplink symbols in TDD mode configuration?

Regards

Naveen

  • Hello,

Can somebody help me with this?

Will this change have any effect on frame, symbol synchronization?

  • Hi,

It sounds like you want to use TDD mode only for Uplink but you may need to generate TDD frame for Downlink If you want to test with loopback mode on single EVM.

Yes. we also support TDD mode on Egress for downlink operation. you can easily make empty symbol space by setting tdd_axc field in PE link configuration register.

they you have to push LTE symbol only when you want to insert it and you should not push the packet during the empty symbol time. many customers feel this is not easy to control symbol push timing when they use this TDD mode on egress, so they normally insert dummy packets on empty symbol slot and they don't need to care sensitive push timing and can push all 140 packets continuously. it is kind of adjustment FDD skill for TDD mode. you can select any way you prefer.

  • Hi,

We have recently added CPRI LTE TDD mode to MCSDK AIF2LLD. I enclosed an engineering release of the upcoming update. You'll find in this package a README file describing how to update AIF2LLD in your environment and how to generate the test examples.

.\ti\drv\aif2\test\cpricheckrf\ltetddcheckrf.c is a LTE TDD example that works in loopback mode as well.
