HOW to test time consumption for my new algorithm in DM3730?

My software development platform is the DVSDK in ubuntu 10.4.

and i test the application by NFS.i also can get some message by CE_DEBUG.

but i can't get the time consumption of the function which in my codec .for example .the IMG_SOBEL() in MOD_process().

Hi Longya,

The most recommended way to measure changes in elapsed time is clock_gettime() command. I suggest you a short function source which could be call before and after your algorithm. You must take the difference of both values. It is measured in nanoseconds.

    clock_gettime(CLOCK_MONOTONIC, &now);
    return now.tv_sec * 1000000000 + now.tv_nsec;

the following code in ARM App:

t1=myGetTime();

call myDSP algorithm;

t2=myGetTime();

that is to asy, t2-t1 is my answer?

Hi Longya,

That's right. The time consumed by your algorithm execution will be calculated by t2 - t1.
