Hi,

i have a am335x starter kit based custom board. but wifi module is wl1283 instead of wl1271.

i have interfaced wifi module at mmc2 interface.

but my wifi is not working. wlan0 interface is not coming.

wifi driver modules can be inserted without any errors. but when i insert wl12xx_sdio.ko, it is not showing any message.

i am attaching my board file here. you can ask for any further information.

what is am335x_mmc[ ]?

what's the meaning of am335x_mmc[0] and am335x_mmc[1]?

in wl12xx_init() function,

what is the meaning of "dev = am335x_mmc[1].dev"?

What version of Linux SDK and WiLink8 SW are you using?

I have only run on the AM335x EVM with COM8 board, but basically you want to start with Sitara SDK 05.07.00 (http://www.ti.com/tool/linuxezsdk-sitara).

The board file there should help with your above mmc pin questions. Then use the WL8 Addon package on top of original SDK5.07 (WL6) available here:

You can then use the following commands to connect:

A simpler diagnosis might be, what happens when you type ifconfig? Do you see wlan0 as seen in the above link?

i am not using linux.i am using android JB 4.1.2.

and one more thing is my custom board have wl1283(wilink7) module from murata and not wilink8. i got different sources for it from https://github.com/TI-OpenLink.

when i type ifconfig, it is not showing wlan0 in the list. i think my card is not getting detected at mmc2.

i tried it with interfaced at mmc1 and with mmc1 it is working fine. but module is not working with mmc2.

i have read some other threads in different forums, from that i come to know that many people are facing issue with mmc2 in AM335x.

can you tell me if any different configuration required to use mmc2 for wlan module or any other related thing to that?

Sorry, my bad for getting the part #'s mixed. I'm probably not the right person to give you a more detailed answer.

But I did notice on the AM335x EVM schematc, mmc2 is being used for wlan.

Have you looked at the board file for the EVM SKU (not Starter Kit)?

Seems to prove mmc2 should work (unless there is a pin mux or othe HW issue on your board).
