How can I save memory bandwidth in dynamic ntsc/pal change feature?

Hi,

I complete dynamic change ntsc/pal capture feature in rdk3.0. How can I economize memory bandwidth in capture link if I just use nstc mode resolution? It seems pal resolution working at capture low layer code even if I set capture resolution in the application. It will waste many memory bandwidth in this situation.

Thanks,

Jacson

  • I don't understand what you mean by memory bandwidth. Are you referring to total memory used ? If so if you want to support dynamic switching of NTSC to PAL then capture output buffers have to be created for PAL else you will not be able to switch. There is no other option other than deleting and creating the capture link again if you want memory to allocated only for NTSC resolution.

  • Hi Badri Narayanan,

    Thanks for your reply.

I mean the m3vpss has a little different cpu loading between different memory create. I think it has some more memory operation at pal creating.

But I find I still have pal resolution working at scd link, I will close scd process and double check this again.

    Thanks,

    Jacson
