If I want to boot a simple program which blibnks a led for example , is it than correct that I have to name the bin file to MLO and adding the header with the tiimage program.

so ledblink.bin just becomes MLO without extension ?

Or am I missing something ?

Basically, you need to rename the bootloader binary image to "MLO" and the application binary to "app". In your case, "ledblink.bin" must become "app".

This is what actually happens:

On power on, the MLO is first detected and copied and executed from the OCMC0 RAM. The MLO then copies the application image (app) from the card to the DDR and passes the control to the application.
