whether i choose OMAP or Not

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138, TMS320C6748

Hai guys,

im a master student, i want a processor (ARM) and FPGA (for implementing a 32 bit complex function , which is a complex Signal processing function ) . Now i heard that OMAP processor contain both ARM and DSP together , So can i program DSP processor using my mathlab code??

You should contact The Mathworks for questions on what processors are supported under Matlab.  I would be very surprised if OMAP5 is supported.  My impression was that they focused on the DSP-only devices and not the SoC devices, though admittedly I have not followed the Matlab capabilities closely.

  • You may be thinking about the OMAP-L138 device...which is a device with ARM+DSP.

The device you want to target in Matlab is the TMS320C6748 which is identical to the device on board the OMAP-L138.

Follow up posts should be made to the Single Core DSP forum (just look for Q and A regarding C6748.

    Hope that helps.
