TMDSEVM6678L failed the quick start guide

Hi,

I tried to get the OOB demo work following the Quick Start Guide, but somehow it failed. The message doesn't show up on the console. I guess it may because of the Ethernet port doesn't work, as one of the light is always red. May I ask is there any method that we can check whether the board is still healthy?

Is this a new EVM right out of the box? When was it purchased? Does it successfully pass the POST sequence?

No, it's a used EVM and that's why we thought it might be damaged.

For the POST sequence, when we turn the board on with the correct dip switch settings, the two LEDs near the buttons (I think these are the user LEDs) blink, but only one of them remains on (the blue one) and the other one turns off. Does this mean that the board is damaged?

Shaopu,

No, these are operating as expected. These are the 'blue' LED and 'LED1' associated with the MMC. There are a group of 4 LEDs that are driven by the boot process that should be lit at the end of POST. Also, you need to attached a serial port to see the POST results. The 4 LEDs turn on but they turn off after some time. Is this the expected behavior?

We will also try with a serial port (using the USB port) to see if we get any results. What is the expected output from the serial port?

We tried the POST sequence and there is no output. The boot mode settings is on POST boot, and we use the HyperTerminal as the output console. Select the COM port and configure settings following the Quick Start Guide.

Shaopu,

You will need to work with our 3rd party EVM manufacturer at the link above to debug the EVM and perhaps have this unit RMA'ed. Alternately, you can purchase a new EVM.
