1GB/2GB/4GB NAND support for AM335x boot

Hi experts,

Do you have ever verified the large capacity NAND with very large page size (4KB) such as 1GB/2GB/4GB that for AM335x boot? could you please provide the specific NAND Flash memory type such as MICRON 8Gb NAND memory type.

Hi Jian,

Boot support for NAND flash memories is described in detail in section 26.1.7.4 of the AM335X Technical Reference Manual, Rev.H.

Hi Biser,

Thanks for your feedback, I have checked the description and show to my customer. But my customer want us to provide the specific memory type that verified since they do not find the NAND memory type that device ID match our MPU from market.

Most large size NAND devices on the market are ONFI compliant. Show the customer subsection 26.1.7.4.2, which describes the initialization procedure. The ID table (Table 26-14) is used only to detect NAND devices that do not respond to the ONFI Read ID (command 90h / address 20h).
