Dear expert.

I'm going to use Rec.1120 video receive interface on C6748 VPIF.

Should I use 1080p 30fps camera input for Rec.1120 ?

Because I want to use Mobile Camera that output 15 fps so I'm worried about It is no problem to use.

Please let me know.

Best Regards.

Jay.

  • Jay,

The Video Port Interface (VPIF) allows the capture and display of digital video streams.

Up to 2 Video Capture Channels (Channel 0 and Channel 1)

    •         Two 8-bit Standard-Definition (SD) Video with embedded timing codes (BT.656)
    •         Single 16-bit High-Definition (HD) Video with embedded timing codes (BT.1120)
    •         Single Raw Video (8-/10-/12-bit)

Up to 2 Video Display Channels (Channel 2 and Channel 3)

    •       Two 8-bit SD Video Display with embedded timing codes (BT.656)
    •       Single 16-bit HD Video Display with embedded timing codes (BT.1120)

Refer the section "Table 34-1. Supported Formats on VPIF" in TMS320C6748 TRM (spruh79)
TMS320C6748 VPIF supports both the 1080-30p and Rec.1120

  • Dear Pubesh.

    Thank you for the answer.

    Yes, it support 1080p 30fps and Rec.1120.

But what I want to know is Rec.1120 spec request 1080p 30fps input certainly.

I want to give a camera input with 1080p 15fps and I'm worndering it is possible.

    Best Regards.

    Jay.

  • Hi,

Yes you can do that. Suppose you VPIF driver is capable of say capturing @15fps rate.

Alternatively if you are able to capture 1080P30fps you can drop alternative frames in the

    capture driver and capture @1080P15fps.

  • Jay,

Rec.1120 supports 1080-30p, however you can configure for 1080-15fps. In this case your video quailty will be affect. If you want full HD motion, go for 30fps.

Refer the Rec.1120 document for detailed information.
