DEI issue in DVR RDK

Hi,

We have observed an issue while using DEI component in DVR RDK 3.50.

when HD video source is connected while application is already running, it creates flicker in captured video. We are using TVP7002 video decoder chip to capture the video.

If DEI is not used, then we don't see any flicker. As soon as we enable DEI (even not for scaling), we get flicker.

Work around for this issue - When inline scalar is enabled (outputting same width and height as source) and then o/p of inlined scaled capture video (with original capture resolution) is given to DEI, we don't see flicker.

Can any one please confirm why DEI component creates this issue ? How can we resolve it ?

    Step 2: init.sh and load.sh 

    Step 3: run our demo application (capture and record)

    Step 4: Connected 720P 60 source (DVD player component out)  

     

    This specific issue comes only when, video source getting connected after application starts.

    This looks as if a incomplete frame got captured at capture.

    When a source is connected initially there could be some incomplete frames. Does this issue happening continously even after the initial few seconds of source getting connected.

    You say when inline scaling is used in capture the issue does not happen. Maybe the imcomplete frame gets dropped completely.

    Can you give me a log of "detailed statistics", option "i" in our demo or call Vsys_printDetailedStatistics() in your program will demo is running.

    This thing not resolves after long time even. We have tested it by waiting more than 1 hour in the flickering stage.

    Looks like the height of the frame is varying. Due to this sometimes complete frame is not output and this looks like a flicker on the screen.

    If you enable inline scaling in VIP capture then you dont see this issue ?

    Can you send a similar og in this case as well ?
