Preview ZOOm 2X in dm36x ?

Hi All,

     I want to display 320x240 to 640x480 in preview for DM365. I tried to set the zoom horizontal and vertical bits properly in the register "VIDWINMD".  But it did not work.  I have the tiled video frame of 320x240 on 640x480 window.

Vertical and horizontal expansions  of 6/5, 3/3,9/8 works perfectly fine. But zooming  in horizontal/vertical direction do not work.

I am using appro IPNC 2.6.

Can some body from TI or others help me to find a solution for this ?

    Hi All,

    I read in the documentation that the ZOOM function is not supported in YC420 format in dm365 preview.  Now I understand why it does not work. .

          I also encountered the same problem, but I can not find a clear description in the document that DM365 does not support  YUV420 format to 2X zoom. I want to know where you saw these description? Also, you finally how to solve this problem?

    Hi   Shuai Chen,

            It is stated in "Video Processing Back End"  document  section  "4.4.3 Video Windows" as,  "Note that any zoom function is not supported for YC420 format"

    That means no 2x or 4x zoom is supported in OSD for YC420 format Inputs. But expansion of 3/2 or 9/8 in Horizondal direction and 6/5 Vertical expansion is possible.    

    I configured the resizer to output at "4:2:2"  format and used zooming and expansion functionality available at OSD.

        I've seen this description.And you said "I configured the resizer to output at "4:2:2 format and used zooming and expansion functionality available at OSD"  ,but YC420 format  including 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 formats, so I think it means no 2x or 4x zoom is supported in OSD for YC420 format Inputs,neither YUV420 nor YUV422 is supported.Do you have any ideas?

        Thanks for your  explain!  

    　Now I use a 320 * 240 resolution analog displays , and the output data from the DM365 is YUV420 format, but shows only the entire screen of 1/4 or so, I want the image fills the screen is complete. Do you have any idear?

    Hi Shuai Chen,

         First you need to output at YUV422 and then use zoom and expansion available in the Preview Hardware.  

    FOR 320x240 YUV 422:

    1.  2X zoom will result in 640x480;
    2.  For NTSC: expansion of 9/8 in horizontal direction gives 720x480. For PAL: expansion of 9/8 in horizontal direction and 6/5 in vertical direction  gives 720x576.

     Which SDK are using?
