6638 EMIF Boot

Hi,

 

In Sillicon Errata documents (sprz401.pdf). it is stated that "EMIF Boot (NOR flash) Mode Not Working When ARM Master Boot : ARM cannot perform direct execution from a parallel NOR flash connected via ASYNC EMIF."

I have several questions on this errata.

1) We can not use EMIF Boot (NOR flash) when ARM Master Boot, right?

2) How about storing u-boot in SPI NOR and linux kernel in EMIF NOR?

    I expect load and store in EMIF NOR have no problem.

3) The following link looks similar to the errata http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/c6000_multi-core_dsps/f/639/t/274081.aspx

4) WA suggests that DSP master can boot EMIF NOR but, it seemed that DSP master mode is not covered in the User Guide (http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/MCSDK_User_Guide_for_KeyStone_II).

    This device must be the TCI6638K2K device based on the number provided.  TCI66xx devices are supported directly through your local Field Applications Engineer (FAE) and are not supported on the E2E forum.  Please contact your local FAE for support on these devices.  If you do not know who your local FAE is then please contact your local TI Sales representative and they will be happy to put you in contact with your local FAE.
