Question about DSP reset on C6678 EVM

Hi All,

I'm e-mailing you to want to know... how to upload images with switching it without a hard reset through c6678..

If it is not possilbe.. then I'd like to know there is a way to EVM reset through ethernet..(for example, like a way of dynamic loading on vxworks)

Hello,

I just wanted to clarify what you are asking. Are you asking if it is possible to reload another program onto the 6678 DSPs without performing a system reset? This thread should be helpful with writing code that will get you as close to a hard reset as you can http://e2e.ti.com/support/dsp/c6000_multi-core_dsps/f/639/t/193265.aspx.

As far as EVM reset through ethernet, I am not sure but I am looking into it and will let you know if I discover anything.

Following up:

While there is no specific function for resetting through ethernet, it would be quite easy to write your own. You could create a daemon or modify the one from the NDK hello world example to execute the code shown in the link of my above post whenever it receives a reset command over ethernet (some ethernet packet that you designate as a reset command).
