TMS320C5504 CODEC question

Hi,

in the web site http://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/codecs/C55X_Speech/index_FDS.html . It is offered G726,G722,G722.1,G722.2 four CODEC or free.

Does TI support any other CODEC ? like SPEEX,G723,G729? or need to pay for the others?

The wiki asks you to contact a TI sales representative for G.723.1, G.729, etc.

Some other questions.

1, whether the SPEEX algorithm can be migrated well to the C55x DSP ? are there any successful case ? and how about the code efficiency?

2, is the G.722.2 patent used for free? If I used the G.722.2 supported by TI , will I pay the money for the G.722.2 patent owner -- VoiceAge Corporation ?

CouthIT has ported Speex for C55x: http://www.couthit.com/codec-speex.asp

For C55x G.722.2 codec, No cost web download (object code), Source requires Click Wrap

I will ask for more clarification on the G.722.2 licensing.
