if cache is open,does it influence the time the program runs?

I am using the following setup:

- DM6437 DSP

- DSP/BIOS 5.31.07

- CGTools 6.1.2

I have a question that whether the cache is open or close will influence the time of the program runs. If I don't use the BIOS and psp, how can i finish the setup of Cache
