DaVinci DVDD Power Rails

In the DaVinci power-calculator, there are two power-rails columns named DVDD 3.3 and DVDD 1.8V which cannot be edited.

For some of the modules (e.g. DSS) it appears that they use both voltages.

Is it possible that some of the DaVinci modules, powered from DVDD, require 3.3V and cannot be powered only by 1.8V ?

  • Koby,

The DM814x device supports dual voltages on some of its I/Os. These I/Os are partitioned into the following groups, and each group has its own dedicated supply pins: DVDD, DVDD_GPMC, DVDD_C, and DVDD_SD. The supply voltage for each group can be independently powered with either 1.8 V or 3.3 V.

I can find in DM814x datasheet, that only USB (VDDA_USB_3P3) require 3.3V and can not be powered from 1.8V.

  • My question related to internal modules and not I/O ports.

I am still puzzled about estimating power consumption of the internal modules, under several voltages, using the

    power-calculator.

  • Koby,

DVDD and DVDD_x are power supply for I/Os.

See DM814x datasheet, section 7.2.5 Dual Voltage I/Os and 3.2.26 Supply Voltages
