TWL6040 PLUGDET Maximum ratings

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TWL6030, TWL6040, TWL6041

I am looking for information about the PLUGDET pin of the TWL6030. The datasheet contains no information about the maximum voltage that can be applied to this input. I would like to pull it up to 2.8V or 3.3V. Will this be okay or will it damage the TWL6040?

I also cannot find any information about the value of Ru, the pullup to VDDVIO on PLUGDET inside the TWL6040.

Thanks.

  • Another BUMP.

      I would really appreciate updated information regarding the TWL6040.  Specifically, the min-max parameters for the plug detection circuit.  The TWL6041 details can be found on document page 41 of SWCS066A which was last revised Oct 2011...  the table is missing from the TWL6040 document SWC044K from January 2012.

      Please advise.

  • Hello,

    The specifications I was able to find are revised July 2012: the documents are:

    1. for TWL6041 SWCS066 ver.: D (SWCS066D)

    2. for TWL6040 SWCS044 ver.: L (SWCS044L).

    The information you require is not present in TWL6040 datasheet, but I think you can refer to the parameters given for TWL6041, which are:

    Rp = 0 ohms (min value); 10 ohms (max value);

    Ru = 420k ohms (min value); 600k ohms (typ. value); 800k ohms (max value);

    Comparison threshold = 0.5 V (min value); 0.9 V (typ value); 1.3 V (max value);

    irq latency = 100 us (typ value); 200 us (max value);

    Quiescent current (headset inserted) = 9 uA (typ value); 13 uA (max value);

    You can also post in the Audio Converters Forum (http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/audio_converters/f/64.aspx), but have in mind that documentation for these audio codecs is internal and cannot be discussed in public forums.

    Best Regards,

    Yordan
