dm8168, DVRRDK 3.0

we can hear 4-channel audio but 16-channel.

after checking post here, it seems it can't be done. Right??

We use TVP5158 decoder to capture 16ch audio...

16 audio is supported in dvr rdk releases. That post is for a older release where only 4ch audio was available. With latest release, 16ch audio is available. Check release notes / audio app notes.

by the above post, the cascaded mode can't been run under 16ch.

But if we want to do 16ch audio under parallel mode ... How could we do that ?

I dont think tvp5158 supports anything called parallel mode. Pls elaborate. Cascade enables chaining of 4 tvps enabling 16ch audio input.

Yes. Check the hardware dependency on release notes summary page if you are on a DVR board.

• Support audio capture from TVP5158. Capture can be extended with minimal changes to Audio APIs
• Default support of 16 channel audio capture.
• For DM8168 platform - This needs DVRRDK hardware ver 0.3A or above, Or DM8168 EVM + VS
Daughter Card RevC.
• Dynamic Audio sampling rate and volume control support for capture

After checking, our HW use DM8168 EVM + VS Daughter Card RevB.

May I know the difference between RevB and RevC??

if our connection is 4xtvp5158 to 4xI2S in dm8168 individually, then what I should modify?

I check devices.c and modify as below but still fail, is there anything I miss

Driver code is not verified in this mode and not sure if it will work as is with just change in serializer configuration.

In DVR RDK code, tvp5158 driver is a dummy driver where codec configuration happens in user application (tvp5158_i2c.c). McASP configuration is part of linux audio driver. You will have to check in both places on what is going wrong. At our end, we have not verified this mode.

Hi Sir / Madam ,

Vengad here from AVnet , One of my customer is making system based on DM8168 Processor . we have proposed the THS8200-EP for Video DAC (DVI Output ) they have selected also . customer need the THS8200 Linux driver to interface with DM8148 processor for prototype ? can you please share if you have it . Like wise we have also proposed the Audio Codec LM4549BVH/NOPB . please share if you have driver for Audio codec also ?
