USB camera Android application problems - AM3715

Hi TI FAEs and Android experts

One of my big Sitara customers have problems with the Android Camera application.

 

The Scenario:

 

  • Open Camera Application ->
  • See Picture preview ->
  • press the take picture button ->
  • picture preview capture looks fine

 

BUT, than it saved to the gallery in a bad quality, probably due to interpolation.

 

Others inputs:

  • We used the standard Google camera application
  • Same issue with Lomo application ( another alternative application)
  • The problem significant appears while there is low light or high light conditions.

 

  • When using the same Lomo app on PC with Android emulation(same camera) it is working fine.
  • The camera we are using is 2 MP USB (Universal UVC driver), while in 5MP is fine.
  • Product CE300 Android with the AM3715.
