AM335x EVM Board Hardware Defect in Profile 1

Hey Guys,

i tried to connect dcan to the EVM. So i changed the EVM Profile from 0 to 1, as its described in the hardwareguide and the dcan driver guide:

After this i connect an USB-to-CAN Adapter to the J11 DCAN on the daughter board. And booted the board.

But the board wasnt booting anymore. Only the LED on the LCD Board is activ. The daughterboards LEDs arent activ and no UART Output is printed to my console. I think i crashed the board cause i turned back to the initial options (profile 0, mmc boot), but nothing works now.

did i crashed the board? or did i flashed the cpld by switch to profile 1?

Hi,

Check the SYSBOOT pins. Pins 4:0 determine the boot sequence. All the other pins should look like this: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/AM335x_U-Boot_User%27s_Guide#Target_configuration

If nothing changes, try to remove the daughter- and lcd- boards and try to start only the main board.

The bootpins are ok. I tried mmc and nandboot, but its still not working.

Now i removed the LCD and Daughterboard and start the baseboard. Should i see Output on my Console connected via UART?

The Power LED is on.

Yes, you should. Unless you are using custom SPL, U-Boot and Kernel with disabed console (silent boot). You should use the pre-built binaries from the SDK package and it would be best if you format your SD card with the create-sdcard.sh script from the SDK package.

Actually if you remove the SD card and try to boot the board (while in SD card boot mode), multiple "C" characters should be printed on the UART0 console, meaning that the ROM bootloader isn't able to find a SD card in the slot and is waiting for UART transfer.

OK, i think i have a Problem. I dont see any Output, I use the Prebuild Image and boot it from the SDcard.

My Syspins are as described in the link above. And the Profile Conf. isnt connected, cause i removed the other boards. So i crashed the board? I connected the DCAN with an USB-to-UART-Adapter and switched the Profile from 0 to 1. Can i test wich Component of my Board is crashed, without using UART or ETH or the bootloader?
