mcsdk video genCode.bat file

Ahmad, could you please point me to the demo guide that you mentioned? it is a doc or a wiki?..  I don't recall I haven't seen a genCode.bat reference on our MCSDK Video..

I have modified the config.txt file but cant proceed further because my tftp server didnt detect my pc configured....

kindly guide me that how can I configure my pc as GenCode.bat file also not found.

Ahmad, got your point, on previous versions of MCSDK video we called "genDemo.bat" and it was locatedf on /demos/demoroot. On latest MCSDK Video 2_1_0_8 it is called "installdemo.bat" and it is located inside the packet demos (ex: C:\TI\mcsdk_video_2_1_0_8\demos\pkt_1080p30_transcode_demo). I will advise to update the wiki.

Please let us know if you can now run the demo

Ahmad, I was pointed out that there are two wiki links one for MCSDK video 2.0 and one for MCSDK video 2.1. Both have the correct information. Please follow the one that suits your MCSDK video version

Dear Paula,

I tried to run the installdemo.bat file but there are some errors shown in the command window and also no sv01.out file generated in CustomBuild/tftp directory. I am trying to run this setup on Windows 7 and make changes in demoCfg.pl and other changing as mentioned on wiki page but still failed to connect through Ethernet. Kindly guide me.

Ahmad, did you install perl? If so, also please confirm the installation path is correct set inside the installdemo.bat

in my case: @set PERL_PATH=C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe

Ahmad, another thing, from your desktop snapshot looks like you didn't use "config.txt" when running on your console the installdemo.bat. Please check this as well

Hello dear Paula,

I have been able to generate the image files on my PC, so far. Now still there is no connection between evm and PC through tftp server.

No message displayed in the LOG tab as I have checked the boot switches configuration is according to IBL tftp.  Is it necessary to connect the evm through Giga bit switch. May I connect the board directly with LAN cable?

I have also run the sendPKT.bat file successfully but there is error while running startMplayers.bat file. Image attached.

Is there any problem due to Windows7?

Hi Ahmad, You can connect your EVM directly to your PC, actually it is recommended as a starting point in order to avoid points of failure.

Some few things to double check:

- Your PC ip address and subnet as specified at: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/MCSDK_VIDEO_2.1_PKT_Demo_Guide#Preparing_the_PC

- Please temporary disable any firewall in your PC

- You can check with a packet analizer program such as wireshark if there is any packet sent by your board.

If after checking you still face any issue please send us your PC ipaddress configuration (ipconfig /all command in console),   and a wireshark interface capture?

But still there is no message in tftp server log viewer and  my PC screen start blinking after running the startMplayer.bat file. but no video is shown.....

Hi Ahmad, thanks for sharing the snapshots. From there I can see there are "BOOTP" packets (which is good). One quick test could be to change your PC's ipaddress to 192.168.2.101 and see if you receive a request in your tftp server from 192.168.2.100? If so, that would imply you have the default IBL and you would need to re-flash your board using the correct gel file in order to run MCSDK video pkt demos.

Please also note that depending on your MCSDK video version you would need the to install the correct MCSDK Bios For example If you are using MCSDK Video 2_1_0_8 you need to use MCSDK Bios 2_1_0_5

Ahmad, I have seen the parsing error image before and you can ignore it. Quick question did you try the IP address that I mentioned before? Also did you try to flash IBL as mentioned on the wiki?. Just to confirm what have been already tried and what is left

I have go through the steps of IBL mentioned in wiki and succeed. Now there is request form 192.168.2.100 but tftp server didn't respond. I have some snap shorts of wireshark:

Ahmad, I think there is something mixed here.. if you use  i2cConfig.gel from MCSDK Video package, which is located in the <MCSDK Video Install Dir>\demos\utils\gel  (instead of  using i2cConfig.gel from mcsdk_2_01_02_05) when flashing the IBL you should get TFTP request from 192.168.0.126 As mentioned in the wiki.

Dear Paula,

I have received request of my tftp server from 192.168.0.126 after reflashing with i2cConfig.gel from mcsdk_video.

Now I run the files sendPkt.bat and startMplayer.bat [Console screen Shot]:

Both files were running but midia player didn't played the demo files....

Ahmad, could we check in Wireshark that you are sending packets to your board and receiving packets back? I think the IP addresses that would send packets to your PC are, depending on the pkt demo, 192.168.0.12X or 192.168.0.130. Please also double check you don't have any firewall or Antivirus active that could be filtering the packets.

Hi Ahmad, could you please save your wireshark capture and send it to us?.. you can use filter with the server/board IP address if you want to. For example filter:(ip.addr eq 192.168.0.102)

Ahmad, thanks for sharing the capture file. As I can see there are not video packets coming from the board ( you can try to filter (ip.addr eq 192.168.0.125) or (ip.addr eq 192.168.0.124) or (ip.addr eq 192.168.0.123) or (ip.addr eq 192.168.0.122) or (ip.addr eq 192.168.0.121) or (ip.addr eq 192.168.0.120) you will see 192.168.0.102 (your pc) sending UDP packets but not receiving..

I also saw in your TFTP screenshot that sv01 is downloaded 4 times. Quick question, it is constantly downloading and you have to stop it? or it downloaded 4 times and then downloading stop by itself? could you send me the TFTP server log?

One option is that the IBL flash was somehow not correct..just to double check with you. Are you using MCSDK-VIDEO 02_01_00_08 and BIOS-MCSDK 02_01_02_05, right? and when flashing you used 0x0C000000 address instead of 0x80000000 (as mentioned http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/BIOS_MCSDK_2.0_User_Guide#IBL)?

Another question, just courious, are the loopback clips displayed? (Top row window).
