how to understand the AIF2 PHYT

hello,

in AIF2 datasheet, it says the PHYT timer is used for marking frame boundaries. It means the PHYT is always aligned with the K28.5(HF0 = 0) in serdes line, right? if so, what is the meaning of Pi? when RM detected a  K28.5(HF0 = 0)  and compare with the PHYT, it should be always 0? confused with this.

  • Pi means the time interval between PHY timing and incoming RAD frame timing. If incoming RAD frame boundary is perfectly matched with PHY(K28.5 with HF=0), you can set Pi to zero. these information are already in UG. it is not easy to carefully read the whole big document, but you may have to do that to avoid many minor questions.

    Regards,
