AM/DM 37x Device Features

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DM3730

Hello there,

At the moment I'm writing drivers for ISP of DM3730 for one proprietary OS. I'm reading "AM/DM37x Multimedia Device Silicon Revision 1.x Version R" and have some progress in this project.

Part 6 "Camera Image Signal Processor" contains description of many ISP features like CSI1/CSI2 interface; CCDC raw process-functions; preview functions.
In contradiction, part  1.5.1 "Device Features"  contains table of features of all processors in AM/DM 37x family... and these functions are unchecked in this table for ALL devices. How should I understand it? TI plan to add this features in AM/DM37x  family or something else?

  • Hi Andrey,

If we look at the TRM Table 1-3 there is no check for CSI input modes but it seems that there is some inaccuracy.
You should look at Chapter 6 - 'Camera Image Signal Processor' for more detailed description. At the figure 6-1 are shown all CSI interfaces.
You can obtain information about CSI interfaces from Table 6-1 and read some details about the CSI interfaces at note under the table:

    • The two CSI2A and CSI2C receivers and the CSI1/CCP2B receiver can be active simultaneously.
    • The parallel interface is limited to 10 bits when used simultaneously with the CSI2A or CSI2C receivers.
    • The parallel interface cannot be used simultaneously with the CSI1/CCP2B receiver.

Search in the same document below for the other features which are unchecked. Some of the are supported in the DM37xx processor.
