Difference between GateAll and GateHwi

Hi,

As far as I understand Swi can't happen while Hwi is disabled. So why would one possibly want to disable them explicitly with GateAll?

Can anyone please provide an example in which GateAll can be used but GateHwi is not suitable?

Vasili,

By disabling interrupts, you are only guaranteeing that a Hwi won't post a Swi. GateAll will additionally disable Swis so that tasks can't post swis while you're in the gate.

A call to Swi_post() from within a task context will immediately invoke the Swi dispatcher unless you have Swis disabled.
